Documented Krag For Sale At Auction

Post by Whig » Sun Jul 12, 2020 11:51 pm

I see a sad M1892 Krag rifle for sale at an auction site that is listed in the SRS as having been sent to the 20th Infantry in Oct. 1895. It is an early M1892 Krag, serial number 8106, but has been sporterized and drilled in the receiver and is only the barreled receiver (and a scope and mount) for auction. Front sight is changed, also.

Always hate to see a damaged Krag but an early M1892 and documented, none-the-less, is very depressing.

It's possible the deep serial number strike is actually "3106" but I'll go with "8106" from the pictures.

I'm not bidding on it but it probably will go quite low considering what it looks like. Someone might get it to be able to say they have a documented Krag in their collection.

Just thought I'd share this for interested eyes (Gun Auctions USA Lot#49460):
