Re: My first US Krag, an 1899 Carbine

Sounds good. You can check our ammo and reloading posts and find many choice loads to fit your set up.

Sounds like a good pick up! Hope the price was great too.

Re: Help with allin conversion 50-70

I read where experienced soldiers could fire off up to 15 rounds a minute in their old Springfields! That's a lot of fast reloading and probably lots of good old fashioned black powder smoke from that kind of shooting. Lots of lead flying from those old monsters. I've shot my 45-70 Springfield a few...

Re: Identified Early Krag

The "Krag Letter" is not the same, in most cases, as a "Colt Letter" for an interesting or historic Colt firearm. I have a couple of both. The Krag letter is usually just a repeat of the simple documentation in the Springfield Service Records that gives information that was collected from historic r...

Re: A SMLE Rifle

I still have the receipt for the Jungle carbine I have from when my dad bought it in the mid to late 60s, I believe. He paid $17.50 and that included the bayonet, 2 mags and a military green canvas case. But, he paid extra for some ammo! Total package probably worth near $1,000. The dollar has gone ...

Re: Bear Huntin Im'a Goin'

Good hunting!

You must know how to cook bear meat properly to enjoy it so much. I tried cooking a bear steak years ago and it was so bad that even our pet beagle didn't eat it! It certainly isn't beef!

Enjoy.

Re: A SMLE Rifle

That sure is a smelly rifle. I enjoy shooting my Enfields. Great round and easy to shoot. I use a recoil pad on almost all of my milsurp rifles because when I go out shooting, I usually spend a day at it. Saves the shoulder, especially with my Jungle Carbine! What do you have all of that W-W-748 for...

Re: Short Cut to get to KCA Pages?

I'm not sure if this is what you are asking but, on any page, you can click on the Krag rifle image at the top of the page and get back to the KCA home page directly.

Maybe you are asking something else, though.
